Onboarding — set up your first agent

When you sign in for the first time, AgentValet replaces the dashboard with a multi-step onboarding flow. It exists to get you to “first action through AgentValet” in under five minutes, no docs required.

You can skip it at any point — the dashboard is right behind it.

What the flow asks for

The steps it walks you through depend on whether you already have agents or platforms connected, but at a minimum:

  1. Pick a host — Claude Desktop / Claude Code / Cursor / Codex.
  2. Generate or paste credentials — the same flow as Register an agent (MCPB) or Register an agent (CLI), inlined.
  3. Connect a platform — opens the platform catalog so you can connect a low-stakes Slack/Notion/Gmail to test against.
  4. Make a call — prompts you to ask your agent to do something using the scopes you just granted.

Skipping or coming back

The Skip button on each step closes the flow and drops you on the dashboard. Onboarding state is persisted on your owner record — once you’ve completed the flow (or skipped past the final step) it doesn’t show again.

If you want to revisit a piece of it later, the individual how-tos linked above cover the same ground.

When the upgrade prompt appears

If you’re on the Free plan and onboarding finishes without you picking a paid plan, an Upgrade prompt overlays the dashboard pointing to Pro. Dismissing it stays dismissed for 7 days, then it returns once. After that it stays gone until you cross a plan limit.
